Rough Country Hidden Winch Mount | 2021–2025 Ford Bronco | #51065

Built for the modern Bronco adventurer, the Rough Country Hidden Winch Mount is a precision-fit solution for 2021–2025 Ford Broncos. This system offers a clean, integrated look while packing serious pulling power. Built from 7-gauge steel with an 11-gauge skid plate, this mount installs behind your factory or Rough Country bumper, keeping the winch tucked away and your Bronco’s sleek profile intact. It supports Rough Country 9500S and 12000S synthetic rope winches with removable solenoids, maintaining compatibility with front sensors and airflow. For 2.7L V6 models, minor trimming of oil cooler lines and solenoid relocation is required—brackets included. If you’re ready to prep your Bronco for real recovery without the bulky appearance, this is your setup.

  • Fitment: Fits 2021-25 Ford Bronco with Factory Modular or RC Bumper and 2.7L V6 Engine

  • Heavy-Duty Steel Construction7-gauge tray and 11-gauge skid plate give your Bronco a solid backbone for recovery missions.

  • Hidden Install – Mounts behind factory modular or RC front bumpers for a stealth, low-profile appearance.

  • Sensor Friendly – Keeps cruise control and proximity sensors fully functional.

  • Recessed Fairlead Design – Keeps your rope safe and aligned with an integrated skid plate mount.

  • Winch Ready – Built for Rough Country’s 9500S and 12000S synthetic rope winches.

  • Mod Notes – Requires oil cooler line trimming and solenoid relocation (bracket included).

  • Straightforward Install – Around 3–4 hours with common hand tools.

  • Maintains Airflow – No restriction to intercooler airflow—keeps things cool under pressure.

  • Tow Hook Compatible – Works with RC tow hook brackets for added utility.

Get serious about recovery without ruining your 21-25 Bronco’s look - this hidden winch mount keeps it clean, tough and trail-ready with no sensor interference.

Just completed this on my '22 Squashed Badlands, 2.7l and, there are some real challenges to this install. 1. It is meant to be used with their winch - however, a Warn can be installed, but only the EVO series, NOT a ZEON, too big for the mount (learned this by trial and error.) There is a YouTube install using the Harbor Freight Badlands Apex 12K... very similar to the Evo... RC does not guarantee it will fit any other winch but theirs; their caveat emptor on this piece. 2. Control Head must be relocated to up in the engine bay - mine is above the Power Train Control Module behind the air cleaner on a custom fab'd plate. Additional correctly sized cabling must be run from the head to the winch. 3. The Clutch handle does sit directly below the radiator support (for most winches including the RC one I think) so a solution is needed as all the plumbing on a 2.7l forbids a hand/arm to get to it from the engine bay. A custom bent Irrigation Valve Key works great. 4. The relocation of the oil cooler on its custom bracket will meet/interfere the inside shutter system of the Intercooler. I removed the lower flaps and using a Dremel, took out the interfering areas of the plastic frame. This shutter system is the passive one. The outside one is an active system. It is easily removed for this rework. 5. The Warn fairlead will not fit the RC skid plate/fairlead mount. A RC can be had at a reasonable price and my spare Warn will have a home should I switch my Classic Bronco to synthetic - currently 3/8 wire rope from a 12 year back upgrade. If anyone is considering this upgrade, you can ask Jeremy to put us in touch.
