Q: Does this distributor need a ballast resister?
Answered by ☆ sales - November 14, 2022
A: If you currently have a ballast resistor in your system, you leave it in place. If you do not have a ballast resistor, one will not need to be added. Finally, if you have a ballast resistor, and have voltage issues, Pertronix instructs to give their ignitor a full 12 volt connection, bypassing the ballast resistor. That information can be found in the instructions for our part #8080.

Q: Will this distributor work with my stock 302 as far as the distributor gear goes or will I need to change it out?
Answered by ☆ sales - April 20, 2021
A: Yes, 66-77 stock Bronco should pose no issue. However, If you know you have something different, or special, like IF, you have a roller cam, or know you need a special gear, this does not include it. This is for standard non-roller applications.

Q: Does this use the Stock Style distributor cap? Will it require a different set of plug wires?
Answered by ☆ sales - April 13, 2021
A: Pertronix does have their own replacement cap and rotor kit, #D600703. If you currently have the the standard female cap, like pictured, you should not need replacement wires. If you have a male cap, like MSD, new wires, or ends, would be needed.
