Q: how to install

1 Answer

Answered by sales - July 31, 2024 23:08

A: You will need to fold the windshield frame down, then lay the seal in the hinge and fold the windshield back up into place.

Asked by JT, October 19, 2020

Q: What is the best way to accommodate the wiper wiring? Should I remove the wiring, punch hole in seal, and run wire through hole in seal?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - October 22, 2020

A: It would be best to punch a hole to run the wire through. Or, you may do a hole in the seal, with a slot leading up to it, to go around the wires.

Asked by Russell Quinn, March 24, 2020

Q: Does this go under the hinge, or in the middle of the hinge. Thanks.

1 Answer

Answered by sales - March 25, 2020

A: This seal is placed, in the hinge. When you fold the windshield down, the hinge opens. Lay the seal in the hinge, with the flat forward and bead towards the dash. The hinge holds it in place when closed.

Asked by Colt, May 11, 2016

Q: Does it need to be glued into place

1 Answer

Answered by sales - May 12, 2016

A: The seal does not need to be glued, it is pinched in place by the windshield hinge.

Asked by Anthony, January 17, 2014

Q: Hi, just wondered how this installs. Does the round ball portion of the rubber go toward the hinge or toward the inside (seating area) and should It hang out past the hinge about 1/4 inch or so. Thanks!

1 Answer

Answered by 8578 - January 17, 2014

A: Round portion goes towards the inside. It can hang out so the round portion is not necessarily smashed by the hinge.

Thicker than the standard seal which is a good thing. Windshield is now snug and does now rattle.

I bought the stainless steel hinge and seal, it fit great and functioned perfectly. I also bought the drop bracket for the wiper motor and fit great as well.
