The unique design of off-set trunnions sets the mating yokes further apart than a conventional joint. This allows for 10 degrees more flexibility than would be otherwise obtainable.
The Super-Flex universal joint was not designed to be a cure all, but rather specifically to solve a binding problem that one may incur under situations such as front axle droop.
The Super-Flex joint does cause some vibration problems. This is due to the introduction of the 3rd plane of operation, which will cause the drive shaft to run eccentric. The amount of eccentricity is a function of how steep the drive shaft runs to begin with.
In our opinion the Super-Flex joint is best suited for slower speed traditional rock crawling and for the front drive shaft only. Keep in mind front driveshaft binding is normally not an issue until you go over 3.5" of suspension lift, and then it depends on the travel capabilities of the
suspension that you are using.
