OPTIONAL HEADER ENHANCEMENT KIT
While exhaust headers significantly improve your Bronco’s exhaust system, they aren't without their setbacks. Header bolts are prone to loosening, which often leads to a failing gasket and the resultant annoying ticking noise. Additionally, the risk of burnt plug wires can cause misfires negatively impacting engine performance. These issues might make you question the benefits of headers, which are primarily power, performance, and fuel efficiency improvements. However, by incorporating a few additional components, these common problems can be mitigated, allowing you to enjoy the advantages of headers without the associated hassles. Our complete header enhancement kit will provide you with these additional components in one simplified part number.
-
Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts: These specialized bolts prevent loosening, thereby extending the life of your gaskets.
-
Remflex Header Gaskets: Featuring a 100% flexible graphite construction, Remflex gaskets can withstand temperatures up to 3,000°F, significantly exceeding typical exhaust system temperatures, and ensuring a durable, burnout-resistant seal.
-
Plug Boot Protectors: Protect your spark plug wires from heat damage with these protectors, which prevent misfires and ensure efficient spark delivery.
TECHNICAL NOTES
- Not compatible with 3 or 4 port injector tubes: Please note that our headers are not compatible with 302 engines equipped with 3 or 4 port air injector tubes. These were sometimes found on 74-75 Ford Broncos as part of the emissions system. However, they can be modified to fit by grinding the header flange for clearance.
- Not compatible with Ford GT40P heads: Our headers are not designed for use with Ford 5.0L "GT40P" heads found on 1997 & newer Ford Explorer and Mercery Mountaineer SUV's.
- No modification of smog system required: Our Pro Flow early Bronco headers do not require any modifications to the smog system that would render it operational. Existing smog systems should always stay intact. We recommend consulting local laws and regulations before ordering or installation.

Asked by KK, January 2, 2024
Q: Can the long tube headers be installed with the engine in place? I am replacing headers that wrap around the engine mount and will have to be cut out of the vehicle or remove the engine.
Answered by ☆ sales - January 17, 2024
A: These will install with the engine in place. Takes some patience but they will work.
Asked by Robert Spalding, December 9, 2023
Q: Are these headers fender exit(outside frame) or inside frame?
Answered by ☆ sales - December 15, 2023

Q: Do these headers come with CO2 ports
Answered by ☆ sales - October 19, 2021
A: No, you would need to add your own.
Asked by Randy Joline, February 4, 2021
Q: I have a 1976 Bronco with a 351W and an AOD trans ! Will there be any problems with the fit. I already bought a pair of long tubes and they said they would fit but right side is against the trans oil pan and left side is tight against the frame !
Answered by ☆ sales - February 9, 2021
A: Long tubes are usually tight. With a 351W, even tighter. It is not uncommon for minor bending or tweaking to get them where you need them. It is usually a struggle, but great once you get them dialed in. Fit can be a loose term on a 40+ year old vehicle, unfortunately.
Asked by Tyler Kelly, June 15, 2020
Q: Do these come with an o2 bung?
Answered by ☆ sales - June 16, 2020
A: No, an O2 bung will need to be added yourself or by a shop, if needed. We only have that option for the shorty headers unfortunately.
Asked by Mike Rumer, May 20, 2020
Q: Are these stainless steel?
Thanks for the info!
Answered by ☆ sales - May 20, 2020
A: No, they are Ceramic coated steel, not stainless.
Asked by Mark., July 13, 2016
Q: Will it be easier to put the long tube headers on before I install my new 351w, will they fit AFR heads?
Answered by ☆ sales - July 15, 2016
A: It will likely be easier to put the headers on after the install of the motor. If the stock 351W manifolds fit the AFR heads, then the long tubes should fit the same.
