My turn signal light broke and I am ordering 2 new turn signal lenses and 2 gaskets. Do I need these turn signal to body grill pads? What are they? Thank you.

The grill pads sit against the grill, and the signals mount on top of them. They are needed in some way or form. The black version hold up better over-all, and the gray tend to discolor in the sun.
