If you are replacing older tapered roller bearings, do you pull the race out of the inner axle housing and then just install <br>sealed bearing without inside race in place?

Yes, you will also need to run an axle seal in the tube for the standard bearing, as it is sealed. The new bearing will seat in the housing itself, and provides its own race.
