I thought the ballast resistor was to protect the coil? won't the 12V to coil now burn it out?
PerTronix Ignitor II Electronic Ignition | V8 | 66-77 Ford BroncoThe resistor is to protect the points, in a points distributor. 12 volts would burn the contacts of the points faster than when resisted. Most Electronic ignition systems require a full 12 volts.
