I have a 2 1/4 column but my tack is a s/w 82162-B the body is 3.2695 and the outside lip is 3.6910 will #2909 mount work?

It clamps to 3.5. If your tach has a taper to it, where you can catch a portion that is 3.5, you should have no problem. Otherwise, you may have to find or create a shim to take up the space. With our tach, we use the 2911 cup to house it, then clamp the cup and tach with the 2909. Or tach's o.d. is 3 3/8.
