Do I need to drill holes for the wires to come out of the door and into these straps? If so, where is the best place drill the holes?

Normally yes, you will drill holes in your door and body to route the wire into and out of the straps. We like to place the hole where it is somewhat obscured by the loops of the strap. You may find a different or better way.
