I have a inline 6/200 that the alternator went out. I am planning to replace it and was wondering if I had plans to eventually do a v8 swap, would this alternator work?

Sure, it just comes down to the brackets, and the brackets should be relatively easy to come by for both motors. The alternator doesn't care or know.
