I'm assuming these replace the two under hood bumpers. so that means that I'd need to drill a hole through the hood the size of the under post of the poly part? does anyone know what size that is or have any recs on how to do that?

The pins do replace the hood bumpers. The hole in the hood is easily drilled with a vari-bit, (stepped drill bit). The hole is larger than the pin, approx. 1 1/8.
