I currently have a 3 core aluminum with an external transmission cooler mounted in front of the radiator and cannot kept my rig from overheating. It does not appear to be an airflow problem. How much will this improve water cooling over my 3 core aluminum? Is there room for an electric fan?
Ron Davis Aluminum Radiator | Auto Trans Cooler | SBF V8 | 66-77 Ford BroncoThe Ron Davis radiators use 2 rows of 1" tubes. Unfortunately it is hard to say what the comparison would be in cooling between the two radiators. We have had really good luck with ours, but cooling always seems to be an issue in the early Broncos. You may end up with enough space for an electric fan, but it does seem to be a case by case thing and not everyone always ends up with enough room. We would recommend mounting the radiator first, then measuring the available space between the radiator and engine.
