I have an original style master cylinder that continually leaks from the cap but it seems like the gasket doesn't coverthe entire rim of the MC. How well does this gasket cover the mating surface?

On this master cylinder, there is normally a full rubber seal attached to the lid, that covers the entire rim of the master cylinder. Sometimes you can find replacement gaskets or seals at your local parts house, in the HELP section.
