I would like to use the rear family cage without any other roll bars in order to support a safari top. Will this rear cage stand alone for that purpose?

No. The rear family portion relies on an existing cage for mounting. These pieces are to be welded to the existing base cage, like our 4258 San Felipe. This will not work as a stand alone piece.
