Product Overview:

This is the Steering Pump Bracket Kit you will need to install a steering pump on your 66-77 Bronco motor. We have added a belt tension hole in the pump bracket so that you don't have to pry on the pump reservoir to set belt tension. our bracketry works with the stock Ford pump and also works with our Delphi pump and most off-the-shelf Saginaw pumps. The adjusting bracket is basically a replica of the stock Ford Bronco power steering pump adjusting bracket. The pump bracket bolt is the correct style power steering pump bolt. It has 3/8" threads on one end and 7/16" threads on the other. That way, no matter which size hole is tapped into your heads, the bolt will work. We also provide washers for spacing of the bracket due to variance from one Bronco to another.

This kit includes the Steering Pump Bracket, the Pump Adjusting Bracket, and the Pump Bracket Bolt. The water pump must be passenger side inlet.

Add Adaper Bracket (#8048) when using a 351W.

WARNING: These brackets are designed for the 66-77 Ford Bronco 289/302. These motors have the water pump inlet on the passenger side. If your water pump inlet is on the driver side of the motor these will not work.

Asked by Joshua Oneil Boltrek, August 7, 2019

Q: Hi. Will this fit a passenger inlet 66 mustang 302 water pump?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - August 7, 2019

A: Yes, the bracket will work with the 289 and 302 and passenger side water pump inlet. The bracket does NOT work with driver side inlet water pumps. We would not expect any issue mounting our bracket to your engine.

I needed a power steering pump bracket while restoring my 1965 mustang original 289. Ebay prices were off the chart. After searching the internet, I found this bracket, ordered it and it works well with the original pump, There is a difference between pumps, make sure yours is the original Ford, and you should have no problems

After Cracking my Original bracket, I ordered this bracket and was really happy with my purchase. The kit comes with a dual ended through bolt that fits both size of thermactor plugs and the corresponding nut for the other end. The bracket itself is stout and the 3/8th hole makes tightening the belt really easy. In rebuilding my '76 Bronco this is one of the better purchases I have made. Very pleased!

Good product and fit well. Had to grind a notch for the pump to fit but still worked fine.

While my installation was not on a Bronco it was on a 1962 F100 this bracket worked PERFECT! I searched all over for a bracket for an early 289, they don't exist in the salvage yards anyone and the aftermarket places like NPD and others want an arm and a leg for one. The Wild Horses option was by far the best deal and gives the ability to use virtually any pump. Plus it's upgraded to include a ratchet slot for tightening so you aren't jamming against the pump, a universal "long" bolt that fits your heads regardless of what size tap you have. all around excellent choice. Showed it to a friend who does professional restorations and customizations of old Mustangs and he is ditching his supplier and going to this kit. You truly can't go wrong. Reasonable price, quick shipping and universal pump selection, whats not to love.

This is a well made product and very sturdy. The issue I have is it does not fit some Saginaw reservoirs. The reservoir seam hits the bracket so you are not able to line up the mounting holes. You have to grind or cut a brand new bracket to clear the reservoir.

This power steering bracket was like everything else I've ever ordered from Wild Horses. Top drawer as always. Fit and finish is excellent, Shipping was fast. This bracket allows the use of either the stock Ford power steering pump or the Saginaw pump. It was the last piece for my pending power steering conversion on my '68.
