Early Bronco Side Auxiliary Fuel Tank Kit w/Skid Plate

New OE style poly gas tank is an exact replica of the stock early Bronco front auxiliary fuel tank. This fuel tank mounts on the driver side of a 66-77 Ford Bronco under the seat area. It proves an additional 8 gallons of fuel. This complete fuel tank kit comes with the fuel tank, fuel sending unit, filler & vent hoses, tank mounting straps and a new skid plate.

Don't settle for other aftermarket poly auxiliary fuel tanks that use bolts to retain the fuel sender. These aftermarket tanks are notorious for leaking due to overtightening, under tightening or uneven fastening of the securing bolts. Our factory style auxiliary early Bronco fuel tank doesn't have this problem. It uses a locking ring to retain the fuel sender just like the stock original tank. This locking ring setup is extremely reliable at providing a leak-proof seal for your classic Bronco gas tank.

Another great feature of our early Bronco side fuel tanks is the factory-correct metal fuel filler and vent tubes. These tubes are zinc-plated for corrosion resistance. This auxiliary fuel tank is made exclusively for Wild Horses 4x4 to our specifications. We have ensured these tubes are installed correctly in the gas tank so that there is no interference with the sending unit as can be a common issue with some other versions of this tank.

Q: cant find mounting info dose it mount to frame or body

A: Auxiliary fuel tank mounts under driver-side seat and floorboard. There is a bulkhead type plate, under the floorboard, that the two straps attach to and support the skid plate and tank. Fuel line attaches to fuel tank selector valve (item #9725). Holds about 8 gallons of additional fuel. Skid plate will need painting/weatherproofing.

A: The tank mounts with two straps to a bracket on the body at the front, and tightens to the body with J bolts.

"My story.......In February 2023 I ordered a new gas tank and accessories from Wild Horses. After receiving the tank and installing it I discovered a leak around one of the studs in the sending unit. I contacted Wild Horses and they shipped out a new sending unit. All was good until this spring, when the gas gauge always read full. I checked the ohms at the sending unit and got 9 ohms, indicating full even though I knew the tank was not full. I contacted WH again and they agreed to send me another sending unit at no cost, even though I didn't expect them to. A few days later I received the new sending unit.
