Asked by Brent, October 15, 2023
Q: In reading the answer to a previous question, it sounds like the included fuel pump runs at 90 psi. But the Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 system requires 43-45 or 58-60 psi. Is the included fuel pump pressure adjustable, or, is there an option to order the M1A1 tank with a fuel pump that is compatible with the PF4 system to avoid using a fuel pressure regulator?
Answered by ☆ sales - October 16, 2023
A: You will need to use an external pressure regulator to dial back the pressure. Something like #6662 or 6669. We do not offer a lower pressure pump.
Asked by SW, September 12, 2023
Q: Working on a build that will have a 5.5 in. lift. Noted in the specs that this works with up to 3 in. lift. Will any special modifications be needed to use this tank (including skid plate) with 5.5 in. lift?
Answered by ☆ sales - September 15, 2023
A: When we mention the 3, that would be a body lift, stock mounts up to 3 body lift. It will work with anything from stock to 5.5 of suspension lift. We expect no issue.
Asked by Anonymous, April 2, 2023
Q: I have a MagnaFlow dual exhaust system from CJ Pony Parts with the X pipe and 2 1/2 mandrel bent pipe exiting behind the rear wheels. Is there any known interference issues with this tank?
Answered by ☆ sales - April 4, 2023
A: We have heard of some interference with exhaust coming straight out the back. We are not aware of any issue with a side exit, but either way, it really just depends on the exhaust install and routing.
Asked by Chris BeLieu, September 28, 2022
Q: Overall height, width, and depth measurements, please! Thanks!
Answered by ☆ sales - September 28, 2022
A: The tanks outside dimensions are 22 3/4 wide, x 20 1/2, front to back, x 14 1/4 tall, measured with a tape measure, rounding up to the nearest 1/8.
Asked by Lee, June 13, 2022
Q: I just ordered the new tank, can't wait to get it installed! What size is the fuel supply line?
Answered by ☆ sales - June 13, 2022
A: The tank comes with 5/16 barbed fittings for supply and return if needed, as well as a 3/16 barbed fitting to vent.
Asked by Greg Betz, September 19, 2021
Q: What size fuse should I use on the fuel pump circuit?
Answered by ☆ sales - September 20, 2021
A: We would use a 20 amp fuse for the fuel pump.
Asked by Andy, March 11, 2021
Q: What is the thread for the barbed fittings where they screw into the module?
Answered by ☆ sales - March 12, 2021
A: The barbed fittings are 1/4 NPT.
Asked by Jon Mathew Armstrong, January 26, 2021
Q: can this tank be used with a carburetor with the in tank fuel pump? I have intentions of doing efi, just not immediately. Or would i be better with the non in tank pump version until i do efi?
Answered by ☆ sales - January 29, 2021
A: Not normally, but, you may be able to add a pressure reducing valve and return line setup and accomplish that. The EFI pump is capable of 90 - 110 psi. Most 4 barrel carbs only require 4-7 psi. You will be moving way more fuel than you will need, and have to find a Pressure reducing valve to do it. Or find a low pressure equivalent. Depending on your EFI choice, you may need a PRV eventually anyway. Or, get the tank for carb, and get the pump kit when you need it, #9667.
Asked by Larry, December 18, 2020
Q: Should the skid plate be painted? Also, what are the two tabs with holes that are in the front of the plate for?
Answered by ☆ sales - December 22, 2020
A: The skid plate should be painted or coated. It is regular mild steel, and not stainless and will rust. The holes are not for any specific purpose, and are just part of the current design.
Asked by Jeffrey Wilkins, November 15, 2020
Q: I am doing a frame off of a 75 Bronco. I will be running a Blueprint 306 w/Sniper. Do I need to run a tank vent on this application. If so how?
Answered by ☆ sales - November 16, 2020
A: You will at the very least want a vented gas cap. If you can tie into your original, if still in place, vent system, that would be good. Otherwise, some will run a vent hose with a check valve up into the tail-light housing. To allow air in, but not fumes or fuel out.
Asked by Gary Richey, September 24, 2020
Q: What size hose does the filler take?
Answered by ☆ sales - September 24, 2020
A: The M1A1 takes a 1.75 fill hose.

Asked by EE, May 24, 2020
Q: I am trying to setup my fuel gauge. What is the ohms at empty and at full for this tank?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 26, 2020
A: The Ohm range is approximately 10 ohm at Full to 75 ohm Empty. The original Ford gauges vary greatly so we took a range of gauges in order to come up with the
settings for our sending units.
Asked by KW, April 30, 2020
Q: Does this tank work with a trailer hitch?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 1, 2020
A: It can. You cannot have anything mounted to the inside of the frame. You may review the installation instructions for reference, and see how your hitch is mounted.

A: We do not. Stainless is our only option other than stock at this time.
