Full description
Twin Stick Dana 20 Transfer Case Shifter Kit | J-shift | 73-77 Ford Bronco
Upgrade your transfer case control with the Twin Stick Dana 20 Shifter Kit, designed for 1973-77 Ford Broncos equipped with a factory J-shift Dana 20 transfer case. We get calls all the time about the Dana 20 being "hard to shift". After shifting hundreds of these T cases ourselves we would say it can take some finesse to shift the Dana 20. You can make it easier with the installation of a twin stick shifter. The twin sticks allow for shifting one rail at a time (front or rear) whereas the original shifters have both rails connected together, making it harder to shift.
This stainless steel twin stick setup gives you independent control over the front and rear output of your transfer case—perfect for serious off-roaders who need more flexibility. The kit includes the twin stainless shifters with black knobs (optional upgrades available), mounting hardware, and clear step-by-step instructions. Gain access to multiple gear combinations including Front Low, Rear Low, and 4x4 options.

-
J-Shift Dana 20 Transfer Case (73-77 Bronco): If you're using a J-style transfer case and want full independent control of the front and rear outputs, you’ll need to modify the shift rail interlocks where the shifters connect to the shift rails and remove the internal interlinks. However, many Bronco owners choose to only cut the external shift rail interlocks, which often provides sufficient shifting flexibility without needing to open the case.
- Slight opening of the shifter hole in the floor will also be necessary for shifter clearance.
Take full control of your Dana 20—twin stick it! Shift front or rear independently with this stainless kit for 1973-77 Ford Broncos running a factory J-shift Dana 20 transfer case and stock 3-speed manual or C4 automatic transmission.
