Wilwood Red GM D52 Dual Piston Calipers - 140-11290-R

Upgrade your braking performance with the Wilwood Red GM D52 Dual Piston Calipers, designed as a direct bolt-on replacement for factory single-piston calipers on many 1968-96 GM passenger vehicles and trucks. These high-performance calipers are built with forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and competition-style high-temperature seals to eliminate the common issues of rust, bore pitting, and seal failure found in OE calipers.

These D52 calipers provide a significant weight reduction, enhanced performance, and reliable high-temperature operation for both street and track use. The calipers are designed to fit in the stock location, utilizing the original style OE D52 brake pads and a 7/16-20 banjo bolt brake line. With 6.28 square inches of piston area per caliper, these dual-piston calipers maintain the original front-to-rear brake bias and can be used with the factory master cylinder.

  • Fitment: 1968-96 GM Passenger Vehicles and Trucks (with OE-style mounting)

  • Material: Forged billet aluminum body, stainless steel pistons

  • Piston Size: 2.00" pistons, 6.28 square inches of piston area per caliper

  • Pads: Uses original style OE D52 brake pads

  • Mounting: Direct bolt-on replacement, fits over stock rotors

  • Brake Lines: Vehicles 1978 & up with M10-1.5 banjo bolts will require new brake lines

  • Kit Includes: Hardened slide pins and BP-10 high friction pads

For low-maintenance, high-performance braking with a sleek red finish, the Wilwood D52 Dual Piston Calipers deliver the stopping power you need while enhancing the appearance of your vehicle. Matching rear calipers are also available for custom installations.

Asked by Gray Lange, April 30, 2022

Q: I'm looking to upgrade calipers and rotors on my 69 bronco. It went through a front disk brake conversion at some point and has an Adelco Moraine 5470 caliper. Will this replace that? What rotors would I need to replace those as well?

Answered by sales - May 3, 2022

A: Yes, these calipers should fit and replace you current GM conversion. The disc kits use stock 76-77 hub and rotor assemblies and bearings. We would use our part # 3004, though you may find something drilled or slotted elsewhere to look fancier and dissipate heat etc.

Asked by Mike, May 14, 2016

Q: Will these calipers work with a 15x10 wheel?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - May 16, 2016

A: They should. Depending on the wheel design. We have had one guy go this route, he had stock wheels and had to run a 1/4 spacer to clear the caliper.

Wilwood is great stuff. But I didn't get two new banjo bolts. The description should have indicated as much.
