50 oz Automatic Flexplate, 164 Tooth, 73-77 Ford Bronco (Late Motor) SKU: 8399
50 oz Automatic Flexplate, 164 Tooth, 73-77 Ford Bronco (Late Motor)
Product Overview:
Swapping in a late-model 302/5.0L into your early Bronco with a C4 auto? This 164-tooth, 50 oz balanced flexplate is built for the job. It’s designed specifically for 1981-up 302 small blocks and works with torque converters that use the larger 11-3/8" mounting pattern. If you’ve got a modern engine and an early C4 trans, this is the piece that ties it all together. For strength, balance, and proper fitment, this flexplate gets it done right.
Double-check your converter bolt pattern before ordering—some early Broncos came with a smaller 10.5" setup.

Early Bronco C4 Automatic Flexplate | 50 oz Balance | 164 Tooth
If you're swapping your engine for a late-model Ford 5.0 and plan on running the stock C4 automatic transmission, this 164-tooth flexplate is what you need for proper balance. Designed for 1966–77 Ford Broncos running a C4 auto, this flexplate (also referred to as an automatic flywheel) is built to handle the torque and hold up to daily driving or trail abuse. Just make sure your torque converter has the 11-3/8" bolt pattern—some early Broncos used a smaller 10.5" version. This is the large-pattern version.
Why you need this: Original small block Ford motors found in 66-77 Broncos had a 28 ounce imbalance. If you try to run the flywheel from this setup with your 1981 & newer Ford 5.0L, you'll have a nasty shake and can cause damage to the engine and transmission. This 50 ounce balance flexplate solves this dilemma.

50 oz, 164-tooth C4 flexplate for late-model 5.0L swaps. If you are unsure whether you have a 28 ounce or 50 ounce imbalance motor, check the numbers on your engine block and refer to your local engine shop or give us a call.
