Description

The 4340 ChroMo Dana 44 Axle with Spicer 760 Joints for 78-79 kit comes with inner and outer axles for both left and right sides along with Spicer 760 U-joints.
This 4340 ChroMo front axle is designed for ford style brakes. Our 4340 chromoly axles increase strength over stock axles for use in performance applications. 4340 axles are manufactured using the latest technologies and the highest quality materials to ensure high strength and long life.
  • Made from 4340 chromoly. Provides up to 50% increased strength over stock axles.
  • 1.189" O.D. U-joints. Stock Bronco U-joint caps measure 1.063", the chromoly axles use the large O.D. caps for added strength.
  • We have our axles machined for full circle snap rings because the stock C-clip snap rings are known to come off under high stress. For years we use to tack weld the caps in, but running a full circle snap ring is the correct and better solution. We also offer the full circle snap rings (#8792) if you choose to assemble the axles yourself. (see related products on right)
Axles come unassembled as shown. If you desire, axle assembly is available for a small charge, when you choose to have us assemble the axles we only assemble them using the full circle snap rings. Slingers are also available.

Everything looks great. Box was damaged in shipping and oil slingers were banged with some pretty good dings which is not wild horses fault. Thank you

They were the cheapest Dana 44 chromoly axle shafts I could find, which cheap doesn't always mean good but after getting them I was very impressed and got to test them out on the trails without issues. I would highly recommend and for the price you can't beat it

Have had these in my axle for about a year now and have not broke them. These are great because I was braking stock shafts 1 every other month or so. Well machined. Best price I found was here.

I shopped around for a new set of 4340 Chromoly axles for my full width 44, and found the offering here at WH impossible to beat... in some cases hundreds less than the competition. I purchased and received the axles, then assembled them with the Spicer 760 U-joints. Best price I found anywhere on the Web, and the craftsmanship and quality look great! Very stout looking axles and yokes.
