Early Bronco Speedometer Cable

If your early Bronco speedometer is not reading properly or is bouncing around as you drive, there is a solid chance the speedometer cable has failed. This new speedometer cable fits all 66-77 Ford Broncos with stock transmission and stock Dana 20 transfer case setups. This early Bronco speedometer cable is approximately 72.5 inches long and includes the firewall seal pre-mounted to the cable.

The speedometer cable threads into the back of your stock early Bronco speedometer gauge and leads through the firewall down to the transfer case. A nylon speedometer gear attaches to the transfer case end and is held in place by a spring clip. This end is then inserted into the transfer case and held there by a bolt through the clamp that is preattached to the speedometer cable.

This is an OEM quality replacement speedometer cable that fits all early Broncos with factory transmission and transfer case setups. With certain aftermarket setups, you may need a custom speedometer cable. We offer these custom speedometer cables for the most common early Bronco setups:

• Extended Early Bronco Speedometer Cable (82"): For early Broncos with long transmission swaps that push the transfer case rearward, this extended speedometer cable offers nearly 10 inches of additional length to support this adjustment.
• Atlas Transfer Case Speedometer Cable: If you have an Atlas transfer case in your early Bronco, you will need to install this custom speedometer cable to mount up to the upgraded transfer case.
• VSS Speedometer Cable: For those running certain fuel injection systems where a vehicle speed sensor is required, we offer this VSS speedometer cable which adds the VSS sensor and plugs directly into the stock speedometer gauge and Dana 20 transfer case.
