Q: Can these be chromed? I have all the hinges and latches chromed on mine but would like to quiet the tailgate rattle.

A: The bushings come off and are replaceable. You should be able to have the hinge portion chromed or powder coated with no issues.

Quick change, did it while changing the arms to the new silencer cables. Cannot believe how much noise has been reduced. Just bought some new rubber stoppers, and will get the weather stripping to finish the job. Hoping for as close to silence as possible from the tail/liftgate on my '76... the crazy part is I may be able to achieve that thanks to WH!

It is amassing how well these hinges work. They are very solid and they will reduce any noise created by a loose tailgate. Add the tailgate cables and the noise will be gone.
