Q: If we have a fiberglass hood, how does the upper bracket attach to the hood? Also, is it the same kit for the fiberglass hood as it is for the steel hood?

A: The hood bracket is normally screwed to reinforcements on or in the fiberglass hood. The brackets are specific for either fiberglass or steel hoods.

Q: Being a vertically challenged guy....will the overall height of the hood in the open position be the same height or lower? Love the idea but don't want my hood any higher than what it is already.

A: Normally the hood ends up a little lower, than normal on a hood prop.

I purchased this product a couple of years ago, but did not install them until this weekend. Boy, what a big difference! My prop rod was bent prop rod that would get stuck and be difficult to remove from the hole in my steel hood. Easy to install, just follow the directions and take your time, especially when attaching the hood brackets.

So far so good. I saw some horror stories about the hood bending or kinking w these but the shocks seems perfectly tuned for just the right amount of hold force yet easily come down. Only thing I didn't like was the screws used to install the bracket to the hood. I replaced them w stainless steel pan head bolts. There is enough room to fit a wrench in the hole in the hood to tighten the bolt.

Gotta say I had my doubts that these shocks would handle the heavy steel hood on my 69 Bronco, but they work perfectly, and I have no hesitation now in recommending them to any classic Bronco owner. I had to order these, my hood was way too tall for me to put the original stick in and I always had to use a step stool, this was an added relief. Also I was always afraid the wind would catch the hood, so nice not to worry anymore.

Great fit. Extremely easy to install. These shocks are a must. Its nice to be able to raise the hood with a finger and the safety piece of mind of not having to worry about the hood close on your head more than pays for these. They look great to boot;-)

I like the design stronger than others but the brackets do not fit very well. The top part need to be at a right angle and even loose fit the bottom part does not come in contact with the fender. So after rebending the bracket and repainting I got to work as intended. But I should have to do any work, when I receive a product.

If you're modernizing your Bronco this is a product you shouldn't forget! It's great to just unlatch your hood and open it with one hand. I left my hood prop rod in place so I could use it if I wanted to.
