Q: I can not get my rear tank to seal off. does this seal fit down in the groove or on the top?

A: The seal fits between the tank and sending unit, secured by the lock ring.

I pinched this gasket TWICE while having a few issues installing a new sending unit & it didn't even hurt it. Compared to another vendors gasket (which I destroyed with the same method the first try) this one is obviously a superior $2 product hands down.

Worked like a charm. I was surprised at how compressed the old seal had become compared to this new one. I used this new one along with a new sending unit after I had done an etch and reseal on the stock rear tank. Make sure to use the proper tool to put on the retaining ring to minimize the chance of sparks.
