Full description
Early Bronco Buckaroo Fiberglass Hood
The all new WH "Buckaroo" fiberglass hood is here. This is the hood we've always wanted. There's tons of clearance for taller air cleaners or EFI. It has a distinctive aggressive look. The front Ram style air ports can be opened up for air flow to aid in engine compartment cooling. The Buckaroo comes with our WH exclusive under hood brace. The WH under hood brace utilizes flat hood pin structure which makes hood pin installation a snap. All stock mounting hardware can be used but we always recommend hood pins for safety. These hoods are only offered in the deluxe version with the under-hood bracing.
The Deluxe Hood allows you to use your original hood latching hardware from your stock hood. These deluxe hoods have a built in support structure on the underside to add rigidity and strength.
We have added a flat spot on the support to facilitate mounting hood pins.
This hood utilizes a two piece mold design which allows for the rolled and finished front lip.
You will need to either reuse your old hood hinges or our new stainless steel hinges to mount the hood to the cowl. We always recommend the use of hood pins, especially considering how many calls we get about hoods popping open on the freeway and smashing over the top of the Bronco. Also see additional glass body part info on fiberglass body page.
Important Note: All fiberglass hoods come with a white gel coat. They do not come painted.

Q: Are there provisions for or can windshield washer nozzles be installed???
Answered by ☆ sales - January 3, 2022
A: The hood will come smooth. You may add washer nozzles where you like, or compare to the stock locations. There is no set spot or pre-drill place in the hood for them.

Q: Will this have any increase in clearance for a taller distributer?
Answered by ☆ sales - May 16, 2019
A: Yes, the Buckaroo hood is approximately 3 taller than stock at the distributor.
Asked by Richard, December 7, 2016
Q: might be a dumb question but is rain a problem with this hood on a daily driver?
Answered by ☆ sales - December 7, 2016
A: The hood comes with the vents and scoop closed. You can choose to leave it that way, or open them up. Rain coming through the scoop is usually not an issue.
Asked by Travis, October 14, 2016
Q: Are the vents cut out on the driver and passenger side for the bent boxes?
Answered by ☆ sales - October 14, 2016
A: The vents do not come cut out.
Asked by dewey, October 12, 2015
Q: If I am using Fiberglas style hood shocks where do you recommend mounting the brackets to the hood? At the ends of the support arms? Would I have to through bolt - bolt heads showing on outside of the hood. Thanks
Answered by ☆ sales - October 13, 2015
A: See the installation instruction PDF, in the #5805 product page on our website. It goes over the install of the hood shocks and brackets.
Asked by Matthew, February 20, 2014
Q: How much extra clearance does this scoop provide? I'm running an Edelbrock intake and my carb hits the stock hood now... and I still need room for the filter.
Answered by ☆ 8578 - February 24, 2014
A: 2-3 over stock at the carb.
Answered by ☆ 8578 - February 21, 2014
A: 2-3 off added clearance. The Buckaroo has pretty much the most clearance for the air cleaner without making the scoop look like a funny car.
Asked by Eric, April 23, 2013
Q: What are the dimensions of the scoop on this hood? I'm trying to determine if my EFI setup will fit under it. Thanks!
Answered by ☆ WH tech - April 24, 2013
A: The scoop is about 30 inches wide. It covers our massive trickflow EFI intake on our 351 nicely.
