Full description

This 4340 ChroMo front axle kit comes with inner & outer axles for both left and right sides along with the Spicer 760 joints.

This 4340 ChroMo front axle kit comes with inner & outer axles for both left and right sides along with the Spicer 760 joints. Our chromoly axles increase strength over stock axles for use in performance applications. 4340 axles are manufactured using the latest technologies and the highest quality materials to ensure high strength and long life.
  • Made from 4340 chromoly. Provides up to 50% increased strength over stock axles.
  • 1.189" O.D. U-joints. Stock Bronco U-joint caps measure 1.063", the chromoly axles use the large O.D. caps for added strength.
  • We have our axles machined for full circle snap rings because the stock C-clip snap rings are known to come off under high stress. For years we use to tack weld the caps in, but running a full circle snap ring is the correct and better solution. We also offer the full circle snap rings (#8792) if you choose to assemble the axles yourself.
Axles come unassembled as shown. If you desire, axle assembly is available for a small charge, when you choose to have us assemble the axles we only assemble them using the full circle snap rings. Slingers are also available.

Asked by Geoff, April 1, 2023

Q: Do you sell the dust shield/slinger that goes on the outer end of the INNER axles, or do I need to press them off my stock 77 axles and move them to these axles?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - April 4, 2023

A: We do not offer a slinger for the inner axles. If your stock 77 slingers will fit, then you may use them. Otherwise, we leave the tubes open, so any debris that gets in, can get back out.

Asked by Daran Rumbaugh, February 6, 2022

Q: Are these axles the same diameter as stock where the slinger goes? I already have parts to rebuild my front Dana44 but realized that I need new axles, and would like to use my new, stock sized slingers. Thanks

1 Answer

Answered by sales - February 7, 2022

A: Yes, these use the same stock Dana 44 slingers on the stub axles. Like our #8860.

Asked by William Richard Lay, February 23, 2020

Q: Is this a 30 spline

1 Answer

Answered by sales - February 24, 2020

A: The inner axles are 30 splined. The outer stub axles have 19 splines at the hub.

Asked by Clint, June 10, 2019

Q: Will these fit a 1969 Ford bronco with a Dana 30?

1 Answer

Answered by sales - June 11, 2019

A: No, the Dana 30 and Dana 44 axles are not interchangeable.

Asked by Jack, May 8, 2019

Q: Will these axles fit through drum brake knuckles ? or do you have to remove knuckles to install ?
Thanks

1 Answer

Answered by sales - May 8, 2019

A: Typically the axles will fit through the hole in the 6 bolt drum knuckles. We have had a couple folks have to clean up the casting on the knuckle in a couple instances. Usually, it is not an issue. We are not aware of anyone having to remove the knuckle.

Very poor packaging was glad to find that the shafts weren't damaged. Product seems of quality material. Can't wait to get it to use! Wish there was an upgrade option for a warranty

The u-joint cup holes on these axles are very tight. Lubing the insides of the holes prior to installing the u-joints allowed them to slide in rather easy. A shop vise makes this task much easier as well. Stronger than stock axles. Provides peace of mind when on the trail.
