76-77 Ford Bronco Disc Brake Master Cylinder

New disc brake master cylinder for 76-77 Ford Bronco. Select from power brakes or manual brakes. This master cylinder will replace the factory brake master cylinder on your 76-77 Ford Bronco.

There were two different master cylinders used on 76-77 Broncos. Which brake master cylinder was used, was based on whether the Bronco had power brakes or non-power/manual brakes.

The most common was for use with the vacuum power brake booster. Power brakes were an option on these early Broncos, but the majority of the Broncos sold in 1976 & 1977 came with this option. The power brake assembly in 76-77 Broncos came out of the firewall and kicked out to the driver side at an angle. Because of this, the brake master cylinder's brake line ports exited on the right hand or passenger side of the master cylinder. Exiting from the other side would have caused the lines to hit against the inner fender or wheel housing, whereas exiting on the passenger side provided a clear path down to the proportioning valve.

The alternate master cylinder for a 76-77 Bronco is for use with non-power or manual brakes. In this instance, there was a small spacer that came off the firewall, and the master cylinder connected to that spacer. This master cylinder had the brake line ports exiting from the left hand or driver's side because the master cylinder came out straight and having the ports exit the passenger side would have caused the brake lines to interfere with the throttle linkage and sit too close to the engine.
