    I have installed a lot of oil pan gaskets, but this one is the best so far. You probably don't need to use any silicone but being old school I placed some on the front under the timing chain cover and on the rear under the crank. This gasket has metal inserts where the bolts go so you cant over tighten the bolts and crush the gasket. Great experience 2 months in and NO LEAKS!

    this gasket is the best. I tried others and had leaks even with new gaskets. this one seems thicker and is better quality than others I have tried. highly recommended if you want to avoid leaks
