This bracket set is the simple way to get a Saginaw/Delphi pump to fit on your 96-2001 Explorer 5.0 engine.
Here is the simple straight forward way to get a Saginaw/Delphi pump on your 96-2001 Explorer 5.0. This bracket set will replace the entire stock driver side aluminum bracket which held the A/C compressor and the steering pump. The bracket set is for non-A/C use only. You will not be able to mount the A/C compressor when finished. What you will be able to do is bolt on the much more desirable Saginaw/Delphi style steering pumps. Many people have found the stock Explorer steering pumps leave a lot to be desired, especially when running less that street air pressure in off-road conditions. This conversion is not designed to fit the 351W.

Q: Does this come with the idler pulley?

A: The kit does not include an idler pulley, you will need to source your own.

Q: Will this fit on a 92 mustang motor? I'm adding the Explorer serpentine system on my motor.

A: This will fit a Mustang motor, with the Explorer front dress. It does not fit or work with the Mustang front dress.

Q: Is there a way or bracket that allows you to run AC and this PS pump with the explorer front accessory drive.

A: Yes, check out part #'s 7127 and 7129. One bracket mounts the Delphi/Saginaw pump low, and the other is an A/C bracket to allow mounting a SD7 a/c compressor above the pump.

Q: what saginaw pump is used with this? mine only has one bolt on the back, the lower one shown on your pump is not there

A: We use our #2006, 2008, or 2071, similar to what is used on some 2000 era GM vehicles.

Q: Hello,
I do not have a belt tensioner on my PS system, the current PS pump bracket is slotted so I can rotate the pump to adjust tension. is there a bracket available that will work with this system and allow my to tension the belt like my current setup?

A: This kit is only designed to add the heavy duty pump to the stock 96-01 5.0 explorer front dress. You may be able to make it work with modifications.
