Full description

Completely assembled and ready to install.

Ready to install, our axles come with studs, bearings and retainers pressed in completely assembled. Just pull them out of the box and install.

Our Extreme Duty Rear Axle Set for the 1966-75 Bronco, Sm Bearing, 10" x 2 1/2" brake drum features:
* 31 or 35 spline
* Ready to install
* 1541-H alloy

35 spline sets are special order only and non-returnable.

Small bearing axles are not available with tapered-roller bearing. We use a conversion bearing which allows us to use 31 spline in the small bearing housing.

In the long run you will be much better off swapping to a large bearing housing and brakes now. If you choose to go with these 31/35 spline small bearing axles you can swap out the bearings to the large tapered roller bearings later as long as you upgrade your housing and brakes.

You will need to remove your existing axle seals from your housing ends. The conversion bearing are sealed and have a outer o-ring seal for the housing but we still recommend you purchase the additional housing seals seen below. Part #8632.

Excellent axles for a small bearing 9".

When I upgraded from the stock 28 spline carrier to an ARB 31 spline carrier, I purchased these from WH. I have a small bearing axle which uses the "conversion bearing" instead of the tapered-roller. The Small bearing conversion bearing uses an O-ring which eliminates the need for an outer seal. I've had 2 abusive wheeling seasons on these and they haven't given me a problem yet.
