Product Overview:

This precision early Bronco instrument cluster voltage regulator appears identical to the OEM 66-77 Bronco instrument voltage regulator from the outside. However, inside it features modern electronic components to solve many of the problems that are common with the stock mechanical units. The factory early Bronco IVR had to warm up before a reading could be somewhat accurate. Even then, it was prone to failure and the design made getting a precise reading on your early Bronco gauges nearly impossible. This updated electronic instrument voltage regulator is much more precise and extremely reliable.

Early Bronco Precision Instrument Cluster Voltage Regulator

This precision early Bronco instrument cluster voltage regulator appears identical to the OEM 66-77 Bronco instrument voltage regulator from the outside. However, inside it features modern electronic components to solve many of the problems that are common with the stock mechanical units. The factory early Bronco IVR had to warm up before a reading could be somewhat accurate. Even then, it was prone to failure and the design made getting a precise reading on your early Bronco gauges nearly impossible. This updated electronic instrument voltage regulator is much more precise and extremely reliable.

This Early Bronco Precision Electronic IVR is superior to the original mechanical voltage regulator in many ways:
  • Looks like the stock regulator in outward appearance and fitment, as it uses OEM style housing and mounting.
  • Surge-protection prevents damage to the regulator or gauges caused by a damaged charging system, wiring problems or high amp battery chargers.
  • No heat is generated by this regulator. Heat related failures are a common problem with aftermarket conversions of factory mechanical units due to chips that need heat sinking.
  • Steady gauge needles at all times with no random fluctuations, deflections or jerking movements caused by rough terrain, no warm up period (as with mechanical regulators) or fluctuations due to changing voltages in the electrical system.
  • Completely eliminates gauge damage caused by sticky mechanical regulators.
  • Eliminates pegging of gauge needles on start-up, which eventually will cause gauge failure.
  • Continuously provides 100% steady voltage/current output at temperatures from -40°F to +185°F, and is not affected by external temperatures within the stated temperature range.
  • Radio noise is suppressed by factory Radio Frequency Interference filters (capacitors).
  • It does not generate any radio frequency interference.
  • Provides steady voltage/current to gauges without regard to battery voltage. Will perform with as little as 5.8 volts DC input.
  • Unlike mechanical IVRs where voltage output was set via a screw, this regulator comes pre-set from the factory and never requires adjustment.
  • Up to five factory gauges can be driven continuously at 100% duty cycle.
  • Replaces the stock mechanical regulator in 66-77 Bronco, 60-66 Thunderbird, 65-66 Torino, 65-66 Falcon, 65-66 Fairlane, 64-66 Ford pickups and 64-66 Mustang.
The screw in the bottom is to fill a hole. It is not an adjustment screw.

Seems to be working well. My only complaint is the posts are reversed, which required adding an extension to the downstream wire so it would reach.

I tried a new pig tail before going with product due to the gas gauge always saying full. Installed in minutes and now my gas gauge works! Why did I wait so long! The bolt is 1/4 btw

The Precision Electronics regulator is working as advertised. Decided to go this route after two original style regulators failed in 2 months. Received the product within 2 days of placing the order.

This voltage regulator is a great improvement over the original. Gage's no longer peg and they run more accurately. However I had to install a Ford temperature sending unit to get an accurate temp reading. After market sending unit are calibrated right for the ford instrument panal typically they are calibrated to peg at 220/240 degrees. The Ford unit is set at 260. Now all is well but the Ford sending unit cost me $48.
