The Mean Green gear reduction starter made for small block Fords with a manual transmission provides 100% more torque, is 1/3 smaller and 5 lbs lighter than stock starters. Virtually eliminating hot-start problems, it is also fully clockable in 20° increments to help clear items such as headers, oil pans, etc. We have used these for years in WH rigs and have been very impressed. Being able to start your rig in gear on the trail has some serious advantages, like you don't have to burn up the clutch if you have to stop in the middle of a difficult spot. The Mean Green has a life expectancy of 300,000 miles and comes with a 2 year unconditional warranty. Perhaps the last starter you will buy for your Bronco, it is arguably the finest product of it's kind on the market today.
Simple 1-wire hookup. Just reconnect your original starter cable to the new MG starter and you're ready to go.
It is recommended that you continue to use your original style starter relay ("solenoid") on the fender to reduce the load on the stock ignition switch, eliminate potential electrical feedback and to maintain the convenient place for the other important power wires already in place on the stock body mounted relay.
