Hood Shocks with brackets and hardware for steel or fiberglass hoods
Isn't it about time you got rid of that steel rod that holds the hood open for you until you bump it and the hood falls on your head? Our Shox N The Hood are perfectly balanced to provide a nice smooth opening for your WH hood. Also available for the stock steel hood. Hardware and instructions are included.
Note that you will need to create a mounting location on the non deluxe fiberglass hood to attach the shock mounting bracket.

Used on my steel hood. These things take about 5 minutes to install and work incredibly well. I will always install these on any Broncos that I work on.

I purchased this product a couple of years ago, but did not install them until this weekend. Boy, what a big difference! My prop rod was bent prop rod that would get stuck and be difficult to remove from the hole in my steel hood. Easy to install, just follow the directions and take your time, especially when attaching the hood brackets.

Great product. The shocks have held up great. Their easy to install and good videos WH has online detailing how to install them helps a great deal. A great product.

So far so good. I saw some horror stories about the hood bending or kinking w these but the shocks seems perfectly tuned for just the right amount of hold force yet easily come down. Only thing I didn't like was the screws used to install the bracket to the hood. I replaced them w stainless steel pan head bolts. There is enough room to fit a wrench in the hole in the hood to tighten the bolt.

Works great, very easy to install. Definitely makes opening the steel hood on my '76 that much easier. Love WH for all my parts.

Received these hood shox from my wonderful wife as a gift. Got them installed and find that they are one of the best improvements I have made on my 74' bronco. No more messing with the support rod, these things work great!

Gotta say I had my doubts that these shocks would handle the heavy steel hood on my 69 Bronco, but they work perfectly, and I have no hesitation now in recommending them to any classic Bronco owner. A quick and easy install, and my fears of that heavy hood falling while I'm under it are gone. Delivery was fast, installation directions precise, and I'm delighted with the performance/function.

I had to order these, my hood was way too tall for me to put the original stick in and I always had to use a step stool, this was an added relief. Also I was always afraid the wind would catch the hood, so nice not to worry anymore.

Great fit. Extremely easy to install. These shocks are a must. Its nice to be able to raise the hood with a finger and the safety piece of mind of not having to worry about the hood close on your head more than pays for these. They look great to boot;-)

I like the design stronger than others but the brackets do not fit very well. The top part need to be at a right angle and even loose fit the bottom part does not come in contact with the fender. So after rebending the bracket and repainting I got to work as intended. But I should have to do any work, when I receive a product.

I had hesitated in getting these, viewing them as superfluous. Broke down and got them when I had problems with my prop rod. I LOVE THESE! Really great upgrade and super easy to install, with good instructions.
