The old Bronco light switch can barely handle the current needed to run stock headlights. Maybe you have had the flickering Bronco headlight syndrome. The stock headlight switch definitely can't handle the current needed to run modern H4 bulbs. That's where the Illuminator harness comes in. Plug the Illuminator harness in and the old light switch activates the new harness and its load bearing relays to bring power from the battery directly to the headlights.
The Illuminator also takes modern headlight harness technology one step further with the optional dual beam pattern (for off-road use). The Illuminator includes a diode which can be hooked up to run both high and low beams simultaneously. Running the dual beam may shorten the life span of the bulb and is probably too bright for normal driving but it could be a big help in off-road situations. You could take advantage of this feature by installing a toggle switch on your dash to provide instant engagement and disengagement of the dual beams.
The harness is all "plug and play" and very simple to install and comes complete with instructions.
