Extreme Duty Adjustable Clutch Push Rod, 66-77 Bronco
Item #: 1942

California Residents: Proposition 65 Warning

Description

You can always cut and weld to lengthen your stock clutch push rod when installing a body lift on a manual transmission early Bronco, but why bother when the stock rods are known for breaking at the ends leaving you stranded without the use of your clutch. We build our Extreme Duty Clutch Push Rods using offset clevis ends and include new clutch rod bushings. The rods are adjustable so you can dial-in the perfect length. This clutch push rod will fit 1966-77 Ford Broncos and is available for stock setup or 1-inch, 2-inch or 3-inch body lifts.

All in all, looks like a very nicely built piece. I wanted to point out for those of us that are inclined us to slap stuff together... One side of the rod that has a little smaller thread... Is reverse thread. This accepts the reverse thread jam nut and the threaded clevis end part # MCP2. Purchased at the same time as my WH 1-in body lift, looking forward getting both installed!

I did my body lift a few years ago and the clutch rod that was said to work with it didn't do so very well. Maybe if I had more body lift but no. This thing on the other hand made life so much easier Hardest part of the install was getting my big meat hook around the steering column to put the pin and Carter pin in. I almost forgot what it was like to have a full clutch without trying to push through the floor.

I have a 3" WH body lift on my 72 Bronco. You will need an extended clutch rod if you go with the big body lift.

Awesome!

I bought this after the Stock unit popped off, at the "Z" Bar on the Frame side. This Extreme Duty, allows me to have a "Fool Proof" remedy to a dangerous problem. "So, don't wait until "the stock one" Fails while shifting gears in traffic, to where it was stuck in gear, and the Clutch Pedal plants itself to the floor board, as it just happened to me", ( twice with in weeks). My Heart was up in my Throat, both times. This Extreme Duty design, comes with everything but the new rubber boot, that you really need to replace when you make this upgrade, anyways. Mine was the original, 40 something, and was Petrified. The Extreme design uses Clevis, and a Huge Headed Pin, and Heavy Duty Cotter Pins. There maybe need to make a few small bends, but I put mine in as is. Good Idea! Well Planned! Bullet-Proof!! Back in the Blazing Saddles!

I have not yet installed my new clutch rod, but it looks to be made of high quality materials and includes everything needed (unless your rubber boot for the rod is messed up, then you should order one of those too). The design is much more rugged looking than the original rod and being adjustable, it should be a perfect fit.
