CLUTCH
WH Clutch Kits
We have basic and deluxe versions of all the clutch kits. The basic kits are generally what you see advertised elsewhere. Our deluxe kits include all the related components that you would normally want to replace when putting in a new clutch (throwout bearing, pilot bearing and pressure plate bolts)
Centerforce Performance Clutches
The Centerforce weighted clutch system works better than any stock clutch can because it utilizes a higher force (centrifugal force). The progressive holding power actually increases as the RPM increases.
LUK Clutches
LUK clutches have one of the best reputations in the market place. These are perfect for stock Bronco motors. Basic kit includes pressure plate, clutch disc, pilot bushing and throwout bearing. The deluxe kit also includes a pilot bearing and pressure plate bolts.
Diaphragm Style Clutch Kits
Centerforce and LUK kits use Diaphragm type pressure plates, which have some big advantages over the old lever type.
*Fewer moving parts and lighter weight means less wear.
*Less pedal effort is needed, which increases driver comfort.
*Greater plate load as the disc assembly wears.
The design of the diaphragm-type allows for an increase in plate load as the disc wears. In lever type designs, the plate load decreases as the disc wears.
CLUTCH TECH
We have found three different size clutches used in the 66-77 Bronco. The 9", 10" and 11". The 11" being the most common. Clutch chatter or perceived clutch chatter is a very common problem on the short wheel based Bronco. We have found one sure fire way to check for honest to goodness clutch chatter. That is to remove the rear driveshaft and go for a spin in front wheel drive. Real clutch chatter will still be noticeable in front wheel drive. A surfaced flywheel and one of our new diaphragm clutch kits will take care of your clutch chatter problem.
Pilot Bushing or Bearing?
You are in opinion territory here and the debate about this goes on all the time. So here we go. It has been our experience that the pilot bearing is a better choice than the bushing. We have used both and found the bearings have held up better over the years. We have no problem supplying you the bushing if that is what you prefer.

Centerforce II Clutch Kit
This is our most popular clutch kit. The Centerforce II provides 60% greater holding capacity over a standard factory clutch. It is recommended for mildly modified vehicles used on the street and trail.

Extreme Duty Clutch Rod
|
Item #: 1942
You can always cut and weld to lengthen your stock clutch rod when installing a body lift on a manual transmission Bronco, but why bother when the stock rods are known for breaking at the ends leaving you stranded without the use of your clutch. We build our EX duty clutch rods using offset clevis ends and include new clutch rod bushings. The rods are adjustable so you can dial-in the perfect length.
