ATLAS TRANSFER CASE

"Here's the beef "comes to mind as you look at the cut-a-way of the Atlas 2! Check out the massive gears! Also notice the synchronizing rings.
* Gear driven
* 3.8 OR 4.3:1 low range
* Synchronized shifting
* Twin stick shifter
* Shift on the fly
* Large rear output shaft
The Atlas 2 is a fully assembled "ready to be installed" transfer case. It features fully independent front and rear drive synchronized shifting. The rear driveline will have to be shortened. The Atlas is about 3 1/2" longer than your Dana 20. The front driveline may need to be lengthened 1".

The Atlas will work with Bronco C-4's or transmissions that have been adapted using an Advanced Adapter that has a separate bearing housing which holds the transfer case input shaft bearing and seal. These include the C-4, C-6, AOD, NP 435, T-18, NV 3550 and NV 4500.

The Atlas will not bolt up to Bronco 3 speed adapters or 3 speed adapters that have been converted to be used with NP 435's. If you have a NP 435 with a converted 3 speed adapter, call for information.

If you are using the WH digital dash, we have an adapter kit to make these components compatible.

Want to run the Atlas with factory Ford EFI and you can't figure out how your speed sensor is going to work? No problem, the Wild Horses Extreme team has what you need.

You may want to consider a body lift to make your install easier but you can install the Atlas without one (very tight fit). Our techs are here to help with your install. The Atlas includes twin stick shifter.

For speedometer connection info.

Atlas 4 Speed Transfer Case

The Atlas 4, four speed transfer case includes all of the ruggedness and durability of the Atlas 2 only with the potential for even lower gearing. Instead of the typical high range and ultra low range gears, you now have the option of using one of two mild low range gears instead. Then, if neither of them are low enough, engage them both for an ultra ultra low gear.

With the new Atlas 4 you get two choices for the standard low range, 2.0:1 or 3.81:1. Access to either these is the same as with a regular Atlas 2, just drop it in low and go. However, now there is a third shifter. With the addition of the 2.72:1 planetary gear set a whole new world of creepy crawling opens up for you. If you are in low range and engage the planetary your low range jumps from either the 2.0 or 3.8 down to 5.44 or 10.34:1. The planetary gear can also be used while the Atlas is in High range as well.

Let's put that in perspective. If you were running an NV4500, J shift Dana 20 and 4.56 gears, your final crawl ratio would be 59.86:1. Now replace that Dana 20 with an Atlas 4 with the 3.8 low range. Now your crawl ratio is 97.21:1. Engage the planetary gear. Now you are looking at 264.41. Is that low enough for you?

The Atlas 4 comes standard with fully synchronized twin stick shifters helical cut gears, needle and tapered roller bearings, and 32 spline front and rear output shaft. The planetary gear is actuated by a cable shifter. A cable actuated twin shifter is also available as an option.

The Atlas 4 speed is a direct bolt up for the New Venture 4500 and 3550. Adapters are available for the NP 435, T-18, C4 and C6. Call for additional information.

Atlas Twin Stick Cable Shifter Upgrade

Atlas Twin Stick Cable Shifter Upgrade
The photo shows the Nightmare Bronco with the twin stick cable shifter mounted in the dash. The really great thing about the cable shifter is the ability to mount it in many different locations. The photo below shows the custom pedestal mount in the Blinginator. Note that both of these rigs are equipped with Atlas 4 speeds which is the reason for the additional third shift lever. The Mare is running an NV 4500 5 speed and the Bling uses a C4 auto trans with a Winters shifter.

The Atlas twin stick cable shifter upgrade is available at the time of Atlas purchase for the price shown. It can also be ordered separately for $289.99 each.
